DESCRIPTION:Giving Circle FundraiserLooking to Boogie down for a great cause? The Giving Circle\, Inc.\, an all volunteer local charity based in Saratoga Springs\, will be holding a fundraiser at the Putnam Den this coming Thursday to raise money for many of its local and international projects.\n\n The event is designed to raise awareness for the work the Giving Circle does but more importantly we want folks to have some fun. It will be held at the Putnam Den on November 3rd from 6:30-10:30 PM. \n\n“Rather than hosting a fancy fundraiser at a posh Saratoga location we wanted to create a really fun\, high energy\, low cost event that would attract many folks that might not normally go to fundraisers in town. The Putnam Den has been a great partner and is an ideal location for our type of FUNdraiser\,” said Hollyday Hammond\, Co-Chair of the Fundraising committee.\n\nThe Boogie Ball will feature such great bands as Barkeater and Johnny and the Triumphs as well as a silent auction\, raffle and a full cash bar. For only $25 per person/$45 per couple people can dance the night away and get the chance to win many great items donated by local businesses. We will also be serving finger foods donated by many local restaurants.\n\nAileen Paris\, Co-chair of the Fundraising Committee stated\, “As the weather gets colder and people huddle indoors we wanted to create an event that gets people out of the house and onto the dance floor. We want to give folks a better idea of the work that we do while at the same time provide an event to bring people in the community together.” \n\nThe Giving Circle works directly with other communities locally\, nationally and internationally\, from Saratoga Springs to Waveland MS\, to Uganda\, Africa. We don’t just send money. We send people to repair and rebuild homes\, teach life and trade skills\, build playgrounds\, schools and offer communities hope and friendship. Most recently we have been helping flood victims in Schoharie County by raising funds and mucking out basements. We have also been building and orphanage and school in Uganda and have developed a child sponsorship program. We also built a community room and computer lab in the poorest neighborhood in Waveland MS. \n\nFor more information or to purchase/reserve tickets please contact Holly Hammond at holly@thegivingcircle.org or call 421-7009.
