SUMMARY:Bow Thayer & Perfect Trainwreck - 07/11/2013
DESCRIPTION:Roots-rock from Vermont's hot new bandBow Thayer has been singing and writing\n songs for as long as he can remember. Making music is who he is. He has\n lived up to his “reputation as a sublimely gifted artist” by pursuing a\n creative vision that seeks to lead Americana music into the future. \nFinally gaining national recognition\, American Songwriter Magazine says \nthis “onetime Levon Helm compatriot is the best artist to come from New \nEngland in recent years.”\nBow made a name for himself in Boston \nwith 7 League Boots\, a rock/reggae band that shared the stage with the \nlikes of Fugazi\, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Pearl Jam. Fifteen \nyears ago he made a life-altering decision to leave the city for the \nGreen Mountains of Vermont. It was there that he explored the Delta \nblues playing slide guitar for the original Elbow and began a \nrelationship with the banjo—both in the bluegrass group\, The Benders\, \nand on his own—that continues to this day.\nHis current group\, Bow Thayer & \nPerfect Trainwreck\, released their third record “Eden”\, that was \nco-produced with three time Grammy-winning engineer Justin Guip\, to \ncritical acclaim on March 5\, 2013. Comprised of a failed painter\, some \nlousy carpenters\, and a piano tuner\, these artists cultivate progressive\n yet soulful mountain music for the general public’s consumption with an\n electric banjo\, various other string instruments\, used parts found in \ndrums\, and a keen eye for the human condition.\nBow aims to forge new sonic frontiers \nand Perfect Trainwreck (which one writer suggests “will become Vermont’s\n third nationally acclaimed rock band”) carries that vision to far off \ndestinations. Having played with such music luminaries as Levon Helm\, \nJohn Hiatt\, Booker T\, and Ringo Starr\, the band has seen its fair share \nof travel across these United States of America and the World at large \nand plan to do more while supporting their records of facts\, analogies \nand metaphors.\nThey have been known to throw one hell \nof a party\, too. Maybe you have heard of Tweed River Music Festival? Bow\n and his band of brothers devote their lives to spreading music wherever\n they go and hope you have the chance to catch an earful.
