Embracing the new and growing online retail environment at the time\, they launched Saratogawine.com in 1999. Saratoga Wine Exchange was one of the first retailers to launch a just-in-time inventory model and custom built one of the most powerful sales data tools in the wine & spirits field.\n\n \n\nIn 2012 the company expanded and moved to a larger space in Ballston Lake\, increasing its warehouse capacity to house the company's growing inventory. Saratogawine.com's digital experience is customer centric and the site now includes more than 50\,000 wine & spirit products.\n\n \n\nAfter 26 years of care for the business and wanting to ensure Saratoga Wine Exchange continues to provide exceptional customer service both locally and nationally\, the owners decided to sell the business. On September 30th\, 2024\, Matt and JoAnn Swapp closed as the new owners of Saratoga Wine Exchange and Saratogawine.com.\n\n \n\nMatt joined Saratoga Wine Exchange in 2003 to assist in shipping and quickly rose to store manager for two years before taking nearly three years off to raise his newborn daughter. He rejoined the company in 2008\, maintaining all website data\, and daily trade tastings. He played an integral role in the development of the saratogawine.com platform and knows the global wine & spirits industry from the ground up.\n\n \n\nJoAnn partnered with Matt to take over the Saratoga Wine Exchange as co-owners. Having previously run a residential solar company\, she brings a wealth of knowledge in marketing\, logistics\, and human resource management to the business. Prior to her career in the private sector\, JoAnn served 22 years in the US Navy as an engineer\, retiring in 2018.
