SUMMARY:Sweet Mimi's Turns 10 Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:Join the Saratoga County Chamber in celebrating Sweet Mimi's 10th Anniversary! \n\n\n\nAs young as five years old\, Jeannette Liebers began baking and cooking with her Italian grandmother in a tiny kitchen in Queens. She knew there was something magical about whisking things up for family and friends. This continued to bring her joy throughout high school and college and led her to pursue a culinary degree in her early twenties. While working full time she also managed to host her own weekly cooking show in Syracuse\, NY. Then came marriage and a baby carriage three to be exact. The desire to have a restaurant of her own haunted her throughout these busy years. Finally\, when the time was right and the opportunity arose\, Jeannette opened Sweet Mimi's Cafe on October 11\, 2013. Almost a decade later\, Sweet Mimi's continues to be the favorite spot for breakfast and brunch in Saratoga Springs\, NY.\n\n \n\nSweet Mimi's Cafe & Bakery is housed in the historic Caffe Lena Building at 47 Phila Street. Dating back to 1938\, the building has honored women as creative thinkers and doers perfecting their talents within these walls. Ms. Hattie Grey opened Hattie's to share her passion for Southern cuisine\, and Lena Spencer opened Caffe Lena in 1960\, now the oldest running coffee house in the US.\n\nPrior to Jeannette taking over the cafe space at 47 Phila Street\, several talented women came before her dating back to 1983 with Miss Peggy's Deli. Eartha's followed in 1985\, and then Beverly's in 1989 which remained opened for 22 years. The cafe has been a place for women to thrive as business owners in our unique and supportive community.\n\nToday\, that tradition continues with owner Jeannette B. Liebers at the helm. She has built from the ground up a cafe that is warm and welcoming and has become a gathering spot for both locals and travelers from all over the world. The cafe is comfortable and neighborly with 35 seats.
