DESCRIPTION:Exhibit Opening for Karin Vollkommer's ArtworkThe Creative Mind\, a new exhibit featuring the work of Karin Vollkommer\, will open March 7th and run through April 25th. A free reception will be held during Ballston Spa’s First Friday Celebration at Brookside starting at 5pm.Vollkommer is known for her original paintings and working with historic prints under her business “Vintage Daydreams\,” some of which can be seen here in the Brookside gift shop. However\, her artwork has taken a new turn. She continues to be inspired by old photos and local stories\, but has turned to making a few of her own. This new form of expression includes stories and character creations made of felt and clay.During the opening reception on Friday the 7th\, Vollkommer will be reading stories about her characters at 6pm\, and again at 7pm in celebration of First Friday’s literature theme.  She will also be demonstrating needle felting.
